Meet Baby Colton

Colton came for his photo debut at 12 days new and I was sure I was going to have a fight on my hands! Mom had posted some pictures of the little guy on facebook over the 12 days before be came to see me, and every single picture… he was wide awake! Session started out with him wide awake… and all I could think about was “Oh no… this is going to be a long one!” But after a few wide awake pictures and a quick feeding, he gave in and slept like a champ!! He also gave me so many sleepy smiles ( my favourite) AND when we tried to pose him holding his head up I thought there was so way it was happening because he was so squirmy! BUT he did it! And not only did he do it for a quick few pictures, he held the post for a good 3-5 minutes with multiple hat changes! Colton you were awesome!!

This was the attitude he decided to give me at the beginning of the session

Here is one of those awesome smiles I told you about!! Doesn’t that just melt your heart?! Makes me wonder what they dream about! Yes I believe they dream… it’s not gas! lol

I’m so bad at this!

WOW! I keep posting saying I am going to get better and post after every session I edit and then poof 20 sessions down the road and I haven’t blogged a single one. And do I really want to go and blog 20 sessions that I have done over the last few months? Of course not lol. The truth is, I am a full time mom and babysitter, part time photographer. The only time I really get to edit is after 8:00 PM once the kids are in bed… and after a day full of kids constantly at be about everything, by the time 8:00 rolls around, the only thing I want to do is sit and relax. The last thing I want to do is sit down and edit, or do a blog post. Because of this mind set I got myself into I fell so far behind on editing it just made everything worse. Finally I am getting back on my feet, I am almost caught up and have made it my mission to edit the day or night of the session I have so I am always on top of things. Hopefully this will allow me to balance my business and my other full time jobs that require a lot of my attention.

So here it is again…. I AM GOING TO GET BETTER AT THIS! I am going to try my very hardest to update this blog with sneak peeks from my sessions and also what is new and exciting with Pure Essence Photography!

On that note… here is adorable 5 day old baby Ethan who came for his photo debut last night!

Expecting a… Thunderstorm!

This session started out pretty much the same as the rest. Clients show up, we take a look at what they brought and get ready to start. But the difference was… On this particular day the sky was black and there were severe thunderstorm warnings with potential for tornado! EEEEKKK!!! If any of you know me personally you know that I don’t handle tunder storms very well ESPECIALLY when there is potential for tornado. I wasn’t even thinking about the fact that the hydro could go out in the middle of my session. I was just thinking about the weather lol. So as the session started so did the wind… and the rain… and the thunder and lightning and me trying to stay cool and calm infront of my clients (meanwhile I am FREAKING OUT inside hahaha). Well… we managed to finish the shoot got some great pictures and avoided a tornado too! HAHAHA Here is a sneak peek from the Expecting a …. Thunderstorm session!

I’m One! Let’s Try something new!!!

Meet 1 year old Sawyer who came for his 1 year cake smash session with a delicious looking chocolate cake! We did some pictures at the beginning of the session and ended with the cake smash session. As Sawyer is digging in, I see mom cringing…. I had no idea up until this point that this was Sawyer’s first experience with chocolate and really anything sweet… didn’t even have cake on his birthday AND they had a little over an hour drive home and no idea how the chocolate was going to affect him. LOL Well…. Sawyer didn’t seem to care about the drive home.. he was thoroughly enjoying his chocolate cake!

The Cake!!!

Just check out the look on his face!!!

There’s no turning back now!!!

Little Miss Isabelle

Meet Little Mis Isabelle, who came in for her photo debut at the adorable age of 4.5 months! I just LOVE this age because they aren’t quite mobile yet, but they are just starting to sit ont their own and the rolls and baby cub!! OMGEEEE SOOOOOOOOOOO cute!!

This first picture makes me laugh so much. Through the almost the entire session every time the flash went off this is the face she would make and I giggled every time!!!

This is what I mean by the rolly chubby babies that I absolutely adore!!!!!

And last but not least we were able to get Little Miss Isabelle to sleep for this one! Mom has almost the exact same picture of her at 10 days new in the same urn and same hat and now she has one of her at 4.5 months old!!

Lastly I would like to say thanks to Isabelle for being such a great model and would like to wish her and her Mommy and Daddy the best of luck as they venture off to Australia for the next few months!!

Little Miss C

Meet Little Miss C who is 4.5 months old. I first had the plusure of photographing her as a newborn and now she is back for her 2nd session. I just love when my babies come back after their newborn sessions and I get to see how big they have gotten! I can’t wait to do her 6 month session and then her 1 year cake smash!!

Here is a sneak peak for you! Enjoy!
